A nationally recognised AmLaw 200 firm with a reputation for high-stakes, bet-the-company disputes is hiring a Litigation Associate in Boston.

The disputes team handles complex commercial litigation, creditors' rights and bankruptcy-related disputes, white collar matters and arbitration for funds, financial institutions and corporates.

Candidates in New York will also be considered, as the team runs matters across both offices.

The opportunity

This is a trial-heavy practice where associates take depositions, argue motions and work on trials earlier than they would at larger firms. Teams are lean, so you'll be close to the strategy and the clients. Pay is close to the top of the market. This Litigation Associate role suits someone ready for the next step.

What you'll be doing

• Drafting dispositive motions, briefs and pleadings in state and federal court
• Taking and defending depositions and preparing witnesses
• Managing discovery, including ESI protocols, privilege review and expert work
• Handling contested matters in bankruptcy courts for creditor and fund clients
• Working on trial preparation, hearings and arbitrations
• Guiding junior associates and staying in regular contact with clients

What we're looking for

• JD from a US law school and active Massachusetts or New York Bar admission
• 2 to 5 years of commercial litigation experience at a respected law firm
• Excellent writing and research skills
• Experience with financial disputes, bankruptcy litigation or trials is a plus
