Litigation Associate - Roanoke, VA

Gentry Locke Attorneys is recruiting two associates to join our Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Roanoke. These positions offer an excellent opportunity for motivated associates to develop their litigation skills while working closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated and challenging matters.

Litigation Associate – Towing: The associate will work primarily with our established towing team, representing towing and recovery companies in a variety of litigation matters. The position offers significant client interaction, hands-on litigation experience, and opportunities to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Litigation Associate – General Litigation:The associate will support the practice group in a broader manner, handling a diverse range of business disputes and civil litigation matters. The position provides exposure to all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

The basic requirements to become our next team member: 2-4 years' litigation experience; Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Virginia; if not currently a member of the Virginia Bar, the selected candidate must become a member promptly.

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Knowledge of law and legal practice in order to perform substantive legal functions in client matters.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
• Analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters.
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate by e-mail, in-person and telephone with a diverse group of individuals and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
• Ability to travel extensively locally and throughout Virgina to attend to clients’ needs on legal matters. Multi-state travels a possibility.
• Work requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
