A well-regarded law firm in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with at least 1 year of legal experience to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build on their litigation experience while working alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated matters. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply, as there are two openings within the firm.

Experience with insurance coverage, insurance defense, or related insurance litigation is strongly preferred , but attorneys with broader litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Handle a variety of litigation matters with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Assist with discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and document review.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings as appropriate.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties in a professional manner.
• Analyze legal issues, develop case strategies, and assist with all phases of litigation.
• Manage case deadlines and maintain organized matter files.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and legal professionals on complex matters.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while providing responsive and high-quality legal service.

Ideal Candidate

• 1+ year of litigation experience at least
• Missouri bar admission in good standing
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team
• Insurance coverage, insurance defense, or related experience strongly preferred
• Experience with general liability, casualty, professional liability, or other defense litigation is a plus
