The Opportunity

We are working with a highly respected, nationally established litigation law firm that is looking to add a talented Litigation Attorney to its growing Los Angeles team.

The firm has built a strong reputation representing major insurance companies in sophisticated subrogation matters, including significant property losses, construction-related disputes, product liability claims, and other complex recovery actions.

With a national presence, an established client base, and a collaborative team of experienced litigators, the firm offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases while developing specialist expertise in a highly regarded area of litigation.

Prior subrogation experience is not required. Attorneys from insurance defense backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply, although candidates with strong plaintiff-side litigation experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle complex civil litigation matters in California state courts.
• Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Attend court hearings, argue motions, and participate in courtroom proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Work alongside experienced litigators, technical experts, and other professionals to develop effective case strategies.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and recovery opportunities in insurance subrogation matters.
• Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and colleagues throughout the litigation process.

Essential Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in California, in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience , including experience practicing in California courts.
• Demonstrable courtroom experience, including appearances at hearings and involvement in contested litigation matters.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, discovery, and motion practice.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage litigation matters with a high degree of independence.
• Must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the firm's Los Angeles office and able to attend the office as required.

Desirable Experience:

• Insurance defense litigation.
• Insurance subrogation or recovery litigation.
• Property damage, construction defect, product liability, or negligence claims.
• Plaintiff-side civil litigation involving complex liability or damages disputes.
• Experience taking and defending depositions, arguing substantive motions, or participating in trials.
