Litigation Lawyer

A well regarded, established employer and law firm in Larnaca CY is expanding its litigation team and is now looking for a qualified lawyer to join. With a minimum of one year’s relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in civil and/or commercial litigation, the successful candidate will be a positive client-centric professional with excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Description

• Drafting pleadings, applications, affidavits, legal opinions and legal correspondence;
• Conducting legal research and preparing cases for Court;
• Appearing before the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus;
• Handling and managing litigation files from the initial stages through to their conclusion;
• Handling filings, case management and other procedures through the iJustice electronic system;
• Monitoring Court deadlines, procedural steps and the progress of pending cases;
• Communicating directly with clients, opposing lawyers and other parties involved in proceedings;
• Participating in negotiations and out-of-court settlements; and
• Working closely and collaboratively with the other members of our litigation team.

Your Profile

• Apart from the necessary legal qualifications and experience, personality and attitude are particularly important
• Confident, with a professional presence and comfortable dealing directly with clients, colleagues and other professionals;
• Open, approachable and communicative in character;
• A strong team player with a genuine spirit of cooperation and teamwork;
• Responsible, organised and able to take ownership of their work and cases;
• Able to work independently when required, while remaining an active member of the wider team;
• Motivated to develop professionally and gradually assume greater responsibility within the firm;
• Comfortable with technology and electronic case-management systems, including iJustice;
• Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
