Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and dispute resolution forums.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, petitions, and other court processes.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare sound legal opinions.
• Manage litigation matters from initiation to conclusion.
• Attend court sessions, client meetings, negotiations, and mediations.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain organized case files and provide regular updates and reports on ongoing matters.

Requirements:

• LL.B and B.L from a recognized institution.
• Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years post-call experience with demonstrable litigation exposure.
• Strong knowledge of court procedures, rules of court, and litigation processes.
• Excellent advocacy, drafting, and legal research skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
• Must be based in Port Harcourt or willing to relocate.
• Active membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) with evidence of good standing.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proactive, diligent, and commercially aware.
• Confident courtroom presence and client-handling ability.
