Litigation Specialist

Scion Staffing is conducting a search for an experienced Litigation Specialist on behalf of a highly regarded, full-service law firm in San Jose, California. This is a full-time, direct-hire, onsite opportunity supporting a sophisticated civil litigation practice handling commercial litigation, employment law, real estate litigation, and appellate matters.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Specialist who combines the advanced administrative capabilities of a senior Litigation Legal Secretary with substantive paralegal-level litigation support. This individual will work closely with trial attorneys on complex California civil litigation, managing court filings, calendaring, discovery, document preparation, and trial readiness in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage California state and federal court filings, including e-filing through TrueFiling, One Legal, and CM/ECF, while ensuring compliance with applicable court and local rules
• Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize complex litigation documents, including motions, memoranda, appellate briefs, and Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (TOC/TOA)
• Coordinate litigation calendars, deadlines, attorney communications, and client-related scheduling across multiple active matters
• Support discovery, including requests and responses, document productions, Bates stamping, indexing, and organization of case materials
• Assist with pleadings and motion practice, including routine notices, stipulations, proposed orders, exhibits, and supporting documentation
• Support deposition and trial preparation, including deposition exhibits, witness logistics, trial notebooks, exhibit lists, and other trial materials

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of progressive California civil litigation experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment
• Strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, Superior Court Local Rules, and federal filing procedures
• Hands-on experience with California state and federal e-filing, litigation calendaring, document formatting, and TOC/TOA preparation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro; NetDocuments experience is a plus
• Exceptional proofreading, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities under tight litigation deadlines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This full-time, direct-hire position offers compensation of $52–$65/hour ($108,000–$135,000 annually), depending on qualifications and experience. This position is fully onsite in San Jose, California. Comprehensive benefits are available.
