Live-in Caretaker

JOB TITLE: Live-In Caretaker / Handyman - Communal Property (Durban)

Location: Durban, KZN - Live-in position

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent - On-site with accommodation

About the Property:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Live-In Caretaker for a communal property in Durban.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Overall cleaning and upkeep of the communal areas, yard and property exterior

• General maintenance and hands-on repairs (plumbing basics, painting, fixing, etc.)

• Managing refuse bins - taking bins out on collection days and keeping bin area clean

• Monitoring who comes in and out of the property

• Reporting any damages, leaks or maintenance issues immediately to management

• Ensuring the property is always neat, clean and secure

• Assisting with other day-to-day caretaking duties as required

Minimum Requirements:

• MUST have sober habits - No drinking / smoking / drugs on duty

• Proven experience as a caretaker, handyman or property maintenance

• Hands-on person - must be able to fix things yourself, not just report them

• Trustworthy, honest, respectful and able to deal with tenants in a professional manner

• Must be physically fit and hardworking

• Must currently live in Durban

• Must have contactable references

Accommodation:

Live-in accommodation will be provided on the property as part of the package.
