A Star Care is recruiting an experienced, calm and dependable Live-In Complex Care Support Worker / Personal Assistant for a rewarding placement supporting an adult with complex physical-disability needs in Leeds.

The role

You will provide respectful, person-centred support throughout a live-in placement week. The work includes:

• Personal care, dressing, bathing and toileting support
• Safe hoisting, transfers and moving-and-handling support
• Wheelchair and mobility assistance
• Meal preparation and support with household tasks
• Support to attend education, appointments, community activities and social events
• Driving a large automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle when required
• Accurate care records and prompt reporting of changes or concerns
• Working professionally with the individual, family and wider care team

Essential requirements

• Relevant live-in care or complex physical-disability care experience
• Confident and competent with hoisting, transfers and moving and handling
• A full, clean UK driving licence and confidence driving a large automatic vehicle
• A calm, reliable and respectful approach that promotes dignity, choice and independence
• Good spoken and written English and accurate record-keeping
• The legal right to work in the UK
• Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check and all required A Star Care compliance checks

Desirable experience

Experience supporting wheelchair users and people with complex mobility needs is particularly valuable. Relevant training in safeguarding, medication, first aid and complex care is also desirable.

Pay and arrangements

The role pays £1,000 gross for each completed seven-day live-in placement week. Suitable live-in accommodation is provided during the placement, and approved work-related travel expenses are reimbursed. The rota and placement dates will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.
