About the Position

A warm, busy family in Tenafly, NJ, is seeking an experienced, capable, and dependable Live-In House Manager / Nanny to become Mom's trusted right hand in managing their beautiful, newly built home.

The family consists of two parents and four children, ages 16, 14, 12, and 1. With the family moving into a large new home, they are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining an organized, clean, and smoothly functioning household.

Approximately 80% of the role will focus on housekeeping and household management, with up to 20% dedicated to childcare support. A professional cleaning company will visit weekly to assist with deep cleaning, allowing the house manager to focus on daily upkeep, laundry, organization, and the many details involved in running a busy household.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, flexible, and comfortable working alongside Mom to anticipate the family's needs and keep everything running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-managed home
• Handle daily housekeeping, tidying, and general home upkeep
• Manage family laundry, including washing, folding, ironing as needed, and putting clothing away
• Organize closets, bedrooms, common areas, and household storage
• Assist Mom with household routines, tasks, and day-to-day management
• Coordinate with the weekly cleaning service to maintain the home to a high standard
• Provide occasional childcare support, particularly with the youngest child
• Assist with school pickups, after-school activities, and transportation when needed
• Take initiative to identify household needs and complete tasks independently

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of professional residential housekeeping experience
• Strong cleaning, laundry, and home organization skills
• Experience working in private family homes
• Comfortable providing occasional childcare, including care for a toddler
• Conversational English required; perfect fluency is not necessary
• Confident driver strongly preferred
• Proactive, dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented
• Able to work independently while following the family's preferences and routines
• Comfortable managing a large home with support from a weekly cleaning service
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
