Live in support worker

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Live-in Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to an individual in their own home.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about care and enjoys building positive relationships while helping individuals maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support with daily living activities, including personal care, dressing, bathing and mobility.
• Support with medication in accordance with the individual’s care plan and prescribed arrangements.
• Prepare meals and support healthy eating, including following any dietary requirements.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's or other care needs where required.
• Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate daily care records.
• Assist with mobility and transfers where required.
• Carry out light household duties to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in an individual's health or wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and infection-control procedures.
• Work closely with the individual's family, healthcare professionals and the wider care team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in domiciliary care, supported living, residential care or nursing care is desirable.
• Experience supporting people with dementia, Alzheimer's, elderly care or complex care needs is an advantage.
• Care Certificate, NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable.
• First Aid training is advantageous.
• A full UK Manual driving licence is advantageous where driving is required for the placement.
