Live Spanish Interpreter – Remote Contract

Expert Education Consultants (EEC) is seeking a professional Spanish-English Live Interpreter to support real-time meetings, calls, and conversations with our clients, partners, and education professionals.

This is a remote, on-demand contract opportunity that is well suited for an experienced interpreter looking for flexible side work. Assignments will be scheduled as needed based on client meetings and project requirements.

Position Details

Schedule: On-demand; Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET
Position Type: Part-time, contract/on-demand

What You’ll Do

• Provide accurate, professional real-time interpretation between Spanish and English.
• Interpret during virtual meetings, conference calls, interviews, and client discussions.
• Clearly communicate the intended meaning, tone, and context of conversations.
• Interpret professional discussions related to education, business, regulatory requirements, and institutional operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with clients and partners.
• Communicate promptly regarding availability and scheduled assignments.
• Work independently while maintaining a professional virtual meeting environment.

Requirements

• Must be currently based in the United States.
• Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.
• Excellent spoken communication and listening skills in both languages.
• Prior professional interpreting experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide accurate live, real-time interpretation.
• Reliable availability during U.S. business hours, Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET.
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working remotely.
• Reliable internet connection and a professional environment suitable for virtual meetings.
• Must successfully complete a live Spanish-English interpreting assessment as part of the selection process.
• No visa sponsorship is available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience interpreting for higher education, education consulting, government/regulatory matters, or professional services.
• Familiarity with academic, institutional, accreditation, or regulatory terminology.
• Experience providing interpretation in virtual meeting environments.

Compensation & Schedule

The rate is $40–$50 per live interpreting hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

This is an on-demand side-gig/contract opportunity, not a full-time position. Assignments will be scheduled as needed, so availability during U.S. business hours is important, but interpreters are not expected to work continuously throughout the day.
