What they need
About Us
At Alliance Group, we’re more than a global supplier of exceptional grass-fed lamb, beef, and venison. We’re a purpose-driven business committed to driving prosperity for our farming families and creating thriving environments for our people. With sites across the North and South Islands, we’re focused on performance improvement, innovation, and reducing our environmental impact.
Our Livestock team sits at the heart of our business - building trusted relationships on-farm and ensuring a consistent, high-quality supply chain to our processing plants.
The Role
As a Livestock Representative, you’ll be the key link between Alliance and our farmer shareholders across the Blenheim Region. This is a highly relationship-focused, commercially driven role where no two days are the same.
You’ll be responsible for procuring livestock, growing market share, and supporting farmers to achieve the best outcomes for their business, while delivering on Alliance’s supply and performance targets.
This role offers real autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
This is a permanent, full time role based in Blenhiem.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of your territory, balancing relationship management, livestock procurement, and commercial performance. You will:
- Procure and deliver results – Secure livestock aligned to Alliance strategy, delivering on volume, quality, and financial targets while monitoring market trends and competitor activity
- Build and grow farmer relationships – Develop trusted partnerships with shareholder suppliers, identify new opportunities, and convert prospects into long-term clients
- Plan and execute effectively – Manage your pipeline, maintain accurate livestock forecasts, and align supply with operational and processing requirements
- Coordinate and communicate – Ensure smooth livestock logistics, transport, and scheduling, while keeping farmers and internal teams well-informed
- Champion standards and programmes – Promote the Farm Assurance Programme (FAP) and uphold health, safety, and compliance expectations
About You
You’ll bring a mix of commercial thinking, rural knowledge, and strong relationship-building skills, along with:
- Solid understanding of the livestock and agricultural sector
- Proven ability to build trust and influence farmers and stakeholders
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently
- Confidence in planning, forecasting, and managing your own territory
- High levels of organisation and time management
- A tertiary qualification in Agribusiness or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
Please note that we are only considering candidates who are currently eligible to work in New Zealand.
What we offer
We offer a diverse range of benefits to support your professional career and wellbeing:
- Health insurance subsidies for you and your family
- 1 week extra annual leave
- Ongoing support and opportunities for growth and development
- Social opportunities with the regional team
- Company car and fuel card
- Phone and laptop
