What they need
Pinson Truck And Freight LLC is a growing transportation, logistics, and warehousing company based in Sacramento, California. We provide freight transportation, regional distribution, warehouse management, and order-staging solutions throughout Northern California, helping businesses move and manage shipments safely, accurately, and efficiently.
As our freight and warehouse operations continue to grow, we are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Loader to support daily receiving, loading, unloading, shipment staging, and freight-handling activities.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys active work, works well in a team environment, and takes pride in handling customer freight carefully and efficiently.
Position Overview
The Loader plays an important role in keeping incoming and outgoing freight moving safely, accurately, and on schedule.
This position supports the movement of shipments throughout our warehouse and loading operations—from incoming truck or trailer delivery through receiving, sorting, storage, staging, and final preparation for outbound transportation.
Daily responsibilities include unloading freight, checking shipment information, organizing materials, retrieving products from designated locations, staging outbound shipments, preparing pallets, and assisting with truck and trailer loading.
Accuracy and organization are essential. Freight for different customers, destinations, routes, and scheduled shipments must remain properly identified and separated throughout the handling process. The Loader helps verify shipment labels, quantities, destination information, and available documentation while identifying visible damage, missing items, or other discrepancies before freight moves to the next stage of distribution.
The Loader also helps protect customer freight by following appropriate handling, positioning, wrapping, and securing procedures. Proper preparation helps reduce unnecessary product movement and damage while supporting efficient use of warehouse and trailer space.
Working closely with drivers, warehouse associates, and operations personnel, the Loader helps maintain an organized freight flow and supports accurate, timely outbound departures.
The ideal candidate is reliable, physically active, attentive to detail, and committed to safe material-handling practices. Previous experience in loading, shipping and receiving, warehousing, distribution, or freight handling is helpful but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload pallets, cartons, packages, freight, and other materials from trucks and trailers
- Receive incoming shipments and move freight to designated receiving, inspection, staging, or storage areas
- Sort freight according to customer, destination, shipment, route, or operational instructions
- Keep incoming, stored, staged, and outgoing freight clearly identified and appropriately separated
- Verify shipment labels, quantities, destinations, reference numbers, and other basic freight information
- Compare received or staged freight with work orders, shipping documents, manifests, or loading instructions as required
- Identify missing, incorrectly labeled, misrouted, or improperly staged shipments
- Inspect freight and packaging for visible damage or other handling concerns
- Report damaged, incomplete, missing, or incorrectly identified freight promptly
- Move shipments safely between receiving, storage, staging, fulfillment, loading, and shipping areas
- Place received freight in designated warehouse locations according to established organization procedures
- Maintain orderly freight placement so shipments can be located and retrieved efficiently
- Retrieve products and freight from warehouse locations according to outbound schedules and operational instructions
- Stage outgoing shipments according to destination, route, trailer assignment, departure schedule, or loading requirements
- Confirm staged freight is assigned to the appropriate truck, trailer, route, or loading area
- Assist with pallet organization, consolidation, wrapping, labeling, and outbound shipment preparation
- Position freight within trailers to support safe load distribution and efficient use of available cargo space
- Help organize loads to support efficient unloading and delivery sequencing when applicable
- Maintain appropriate separation between individual customer shipments during staging and loading
- Handle freight carefully throughout unloading, storage, staging, and loading to help prevent unnecessary product or packaging damage
- Wrap, stabilize, protect, and secure freight as required for handling and transportation
- Reposition or reorganize freight when loading requirements, trailer assignments, or shipment schedules change
- Assist with preparing consolidated or multi-shipment loads when required
- Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, dollies, and other approved material-handling equipment safely
- Assist with routine inventory counts and freight-location checks
- Help identify misplaced freight, shortages, or inventory discrepancies
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse associates, and operations personnel regarding freight location, loading progress, and shipment priorities
- Communicate shortages, damage, incorrect labels, or other discrepancies that could affect an outbound shipment
- Support efficient truck and trailer loading to help keep scheduled departures on track
- Help maintain organized freight flow during high-volume receiving and shipping periods
- Maintain clean and orderly loading docks, staging areas, storage locations, and warehouse workspaces
- Keep aisles, loading areas, and access paths clear to support safe movement of people, freight, and equipment
- Maintain awareness of surrounding trucks, trailers, freight, equipment, and team members while working
- Follow manifests, work orders, shipping documents, loading instructions, and established warehouse procedures
- Follow company requirements for workplace safety, cargo protection, and material-handling equipment
