Loader Driver

The team at Atlas – Mt Rex, located in Helensville, require a Loader Driver to join their team.

Atlas Concrete has been in business for 70+ years, supplying ready mix concrete, pre-cast concrete, aggregate and other related supplies to the wider Auckland and Northland regions. We have 9 branches across 4 divisions; Atlas Concrete, Atlas Quarries, Mt Rex Shipping and Atlas Tilt Slab.

The main purpose of the role:

Is to operate the Loader, ensuring sand is loaded onto the trucks efficiently and according to all Health & Safety requirements. You will be working very closely with truck drivers and will also be required to complete daily machine inspections and report any issues. Keeping the Loader in excellent working order is imperative which includes keeping it clean and tidy, fueled and greased.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Safely drive the Loader to load sand onto the trucks, working in liaison with the truck drivers

• Ensure all trucks are following the Mt Rex weighbridge system

• Maintain all machinery and associated equipment and complete daily inspection sheets

• Keep the sand loading area clean and tidy

Key requirements for the role are:

• Experience as a Loader Driver

• Class 2 licence and Wheels endorsement

• Be a committed and reliable team player

• Be aware of site hazards and work with the companies Health & Safety policies

• Have excellent knowledge of machine upkeep, including but not limited to cleaning, pre-start checks and greasing

Hours:

Monday-Friday  starting between 4am and 7am in alternating weeks, and a requirement to work every second or third Saturday 4am to 12pm

Personal attributes and skills:

You will be organised and action-oriented, with tenacity and both operational and relationship building skills. Having team management experience along with excellent communication skills is essential – written, verbal and listening.

The ability to work in a time critical working environment and a reasonable level of numeracy for simple arithmetic is required.

 Note: Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and are required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. On-going random drug testing is carried out.
