Loader Operator

FG Construction is seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our growing field operations team. This position plays an important role in supporting our construction crews by safely operating heavy equipment used in excavation, material handling, and site preparation.

Position Summary

The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment—primarily front-end loaders—to move materials, load trucks, assist with site preparation, and support construction operations. This position requires attention to safety, efficiency, and coordination with field supervisors and crew members.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment on construction sites
• Load and move materials such as soil, gravel, sand, debris, and construction materials
• Assist with site preparation, excavation support, and material distribution
• Load trucks and maintain proper material placement on job sites
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Work closely with field supervisors and crew members to maintain productivity
• Maintain clean and organized work areas around equipment and job sites
• Assist with additional site duties as needed to support project completion

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment in construction
• Ability to safely operate equipment in active construction environments
• Knowledge of equipment safety procedures and job site protocols
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license required
• Reliable transportation to job sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction, earthwork, or underground utility projects
• Experience loading haul trucks or dump trucks
• OSHA safety training certifications

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction sites
• Physically demanding environment
• Requires working around heavy equipment and active crews
