About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Operator – Organic Waste to join a busy production and waste management operation in Auckland.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience operating heavy machinery who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a team. You will be responsible for operating machinery used for processing, moving, shredding and screening green waste and organic materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate loaders, diggers, screens and other site machinery
• Shred, screen, transport and load/unload green waste
• Turn and manage organic waste windrows
• Load kerbside material into processing lines
• Mix, blend, weigh and record batches as required
• Operate and monitor onsite screening equipment
• Carry out daily machinery checks, servicing and basic maintenance
• Identify and clear product jams and keep machinery and work areas clean
• Assist with general site duties, including cleaning, sweeping and manual labour
• Follow site procedures and instructions from the Supervisor
• Maintain accurate production and operational records
• Work safely and contribute to a strong health and safety culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A full New Zealand driver's licence
• Experience operating heavy machinery
• Experience operating wheeled and tracked loaders, excavators/diggers and forklifts
• Appropriate endorsements for the machinery you operate
• Class 2 and W endorsement would be advantageous
• Previous experience in waste management, recycling, manufacturing, civil construction or a similar environment
• A strong commitment to health and safety
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A reliable and hardworking attitude
• The ability to carry out both machinery operation and general site duties
