Role Description The Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Duluth, GA, responsible for guiding borrowers through the mortgage loan process from initial inquiry to closing. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their financial goals, explaining loan products, and assisting with pre-qualification and full application completion. The role involves evaluating borrower documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring loans meet regulatory and company guidelines. The Loan Officer will provide consistent customer service, maintain ongoing communication with borrowers, real estate agents, and internal partners, and manage a pipeline of loans to meet production and quality targets. This position also requires staying current with lending regulations and market trends while representing First Option Mortgage’s values in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in mortgage lending or as a Loan Officer, with a strong understanding of loan origination processes.
• Knowledge of finance principles and mortgage products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan programs.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and the ability to work collaboratively with underwriting teams.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and support borrowers through complex decisions.
• Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS), basic office software, and data entry with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts in accessible terms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple files, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High ethical standards and commitment to fair lending and regulatory compliance.
• Relevant state mortgage loan originator licensing (or eligibility to obtain), and prior experience in residential mortgage lending preferred.
