What they need
Local CDL A Container Delivery Driver
West Memphis Arkansas | Full Time Home Daily in Most Cases | $25 to $30 per Hour Plus Overtime
Tri-State Container Solutions is hiring a safety-focused CDL-A driver to deliver empty shipping containers from its West Memphis yard using specialized tilt-bed and container-delivery trailers. This is local and regional customer-site work rather than ordinary dock-to-dock freight. Drivers assess access, position equipment carefully, communicate with customers, and stop when a site or equipment condition is unsafe.
Schedule and Service Area
Normal start time is approximately 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Most routine deliveries are within approximately 150 miles of the West Memphis yard.
Drivers are home daily in most cases. Occasional longer routes, overnight travel, or Saturday work may be required with advance notice when practical.
Most weeks are expected to fall between 40 and 50 hours, with overtime paid after 40 hours.
What You Will Do
Safely operate company trucks and specialized trailers to pick up, transport, and deliver empty 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers.
Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects immediately.
Verify trailer connections, securement, container position, lights, tires, hydraulics, chains, and other delivery equipment before travel and unloading.
Review delivery information before departure and communicate early when site access, weather, timing, or equipment conditions create a problem.
Assess customer sites for adequate space, ground conditions, gates, turns, slopes, trees, structures, overhead lines, and other hazards.
Get out and look when clearances are uncertain. Refuse or pause any delivery that cannot be completed safely.
Position containers carefully according to confirmed instructions while protecting customer property, company equipment, and nearby people.
Use a smartphone for routing, customer communication, delivery photographs, electronic records, and required documentation.
Keep the truck and trailer clean, organized, and ready for work, and assist with reasonable yard or equipment tasks when routes permit.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Class A commercial driver's license and current medical qualification.
Acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to meet the company's insurance requirements.
Ability to pass required pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, FMCSA Clearinghouse checks, background and employment verification, and a Tri-State road test.
Stable work history, dependable attendance, professional customer communication, and willingness to follow written safety procedures.
Comfort backing and maneuvering at customer sites where space, ground conditions, and obstacles require careful judgment.
Ability to climb into and out of trucks and trailers, bend and kneel during inspections, work outdoors in changing weather, handle securement equipment, and lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
Comfort with company cameras, telematics, electronic logs when applicable, photographs, and digital delivery records.
Preferred Experience
Tilt-bed, container, roll-off, equipment-hauling, towing, construction, agricultural, or similar customer-site delivery experience.
Mechanical awareness and the ability to describe equipment symptoms accurately without attempting unauthorized repairs.
Experience working independently while communicating with dispatch and customers throughout the day.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay is $25 to $30 per hour based on directly relevant experience, plus overtime after 40 hours. Paid training is provided on Tri-State equipment, container-delivery procedures, site assessment, documentation, and customer communication.
Company pays 50 percent of the employee-only health insurance premium; family coverage may be added at the employee's cost.
Six paid company holidays.
After each six months of service, three paid vacation days and one paid personal day.
Company equipment, cameras, and telematics are used for safety, coaching, accountability, and protection.
Drivers have authority to stop unsafe work and report serious defects without retaliation.
How to Apply
Apply with a resume or detailed work history that lists your CDL experience, recent equipment, accidents or citations, and any tilt-bed, container, equipment-hauling, towing, construction, or agricultural experience. Qualified candidates will complete a structured interview, record review, and representative road test before independent release.
