Duties

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer on local delivery routes
• Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes, ensuring timely deliveries across designated areas while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Maintain compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous substances.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and cargo to ensure safety and vehicle readiness.
• Document delivery details accurately, including load & unload records, route logs, and incident reports as needed.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries, provide updates, and resolve any issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving
• Experience driving a manual truck
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving.
• Skilled in route driving using GPS navigation tools to optimize delivery schedules
• Excellent driving skills with a clean record in commercial driving; ability to operate manual transmission trucks is a plus.
