Local CDL Class A Truck Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers within local routes to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with experience handling various types of loads and trailers including flatbed, tanker, and roll-off trucks. This position offers the opportunity to work close to home while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated local routes
• Deliver goods to customers efficiently while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows
• Handle various types of trailers including flatbed, tanker, and roll-off trucks
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation in accordance with company policies
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during driving operations
• Assist with route planning to optimize delivery efficiency and fuel consumption
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or issues

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record with 2 plus years experience
• Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred
• Proven experience in truck driving, including freight delivery, route driving, and load & unload operations
• Familiarity with various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is a plus
• Ability to operate additional equipment like forklifts is desirable
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial drivers
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and customer service
• Perform vehicle inspections as needed
• Must be 25 years or older
