Local Class 1 Flatbed driver

Duties

• Safely operate a Class 1 flatbed truck within local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Securely load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods
• Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical issues, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met
• Use heavy equipment operation skills to handle freight efficiently and securely during loading and unloading processes
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests, delivery receipts, and logs
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly
• Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any repairs needed to ensure continuous safe operation

Experience

• Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks or similar heavy vehicles
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation related to freight handling is highly desirable
• Familiarity with automotive repair basics to identify minor vehicle issues before they escalate
• Ability to follow safety procedures meticulously and work in physically demanding environments

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
