Local Second Shift Truck Driver

Cannonball Express, an Omaha, Nebraska, based company is looking to hire a local evening/night truck driver. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently driving a large commercial vehicle long distances for extended hours to deliver cargo. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight and break periods must be followed. The truck driver is also responsible for receiving cargo, parking in appropriate docks, tracking mileage, and documenting schedules, delivery confirmation and manifests.

Duties

Assists in loading and unloading truck with either a forklift or pallet jack, as needed.

Maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatchers to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.

Maintains logs according to state and federal regulations.

Strictly adhering to standard operating procedures to ensure the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents.

Assisting customers, both internal and external, with problems as they arise.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate

CDL-A license

Current driver physical

Clean Motor Vehicle Record past 2 years

Minimum 2 years obtaining Class A CDL

Knowledge of local geography to include highway system

The ability to work varied hours depending on company needs

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Work Environment

Work performed in a combination of office and warehouse environments

Exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and both hot and cold temperatures
