Locksmith Apprentice – Seatown Locksmith (Burien, WA)

Seatown Locksmith has been keeping South King County secure since 2007. We started as a one-van operation and have grown into a multi-technician company with a fleet of service vans and a storefront on Ambaum Blvd in Burien. We serve homeowners, drivers, and commercial clients including municipalities, hospitals, property and facility management companies, and churches.

We're looking for a reliable, mechanically minded person who wants to learn a real trade from the ground up. No locksmith experience is needed. We'll teach you. What we can't teach is showing up on time, treating customers with respect, and caring about doing the job right.

What you'll learn and do

• Ride along with and assist experienced technicians on residential, commercial, and automotive calls
• Rekey, repair, and install locks, deadbolts, and commercial door hardware (closers, exit devices, panic bars)
• Cut keys by code and duplicate them on shop machines
• Learn automotive work: car key cutting and transponder/remote programming, which is one of our specialties
• Get exposure to safe service, including openings, combination changes, and installs
• Handle lockouts for homes, businesses, and vehicles
• Help at the storefront: serving walk-in customers, cutting keys, and keeping the shop and van stock organized
• Log job details, parts used, and photos accurately in our dispatch system

What we're looking for

• Comfortable with hand and power tools, and enjoys figuring out how things work
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Able to pass a background check. Customers trust us with access to their homes and businesses.
• Dependable, punctual, and honest
• Friendly and professional with customers, in person and on the phone
• Physically able to kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in Seattle weather
• Basic smartphone and computer skills
• A plus, but not required: hardware store, construction, automotive, or other trades background
