Locum Optometry Physician

**Position Overview: Medical Optometry Physician**

• **Contract Length:** Immediate start, 3-month engagement with a strong potential for extension.

• **Practice Setting:** Outpatient clinic environment.

• **Work Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

• **Clinical Duties:** - Conduct routine eye examinations.

• Perform contact lens fittings.

• Manage eye urgencies and emergencies.

• Provide comprehensive medical optometry care.

• Address red eye conditions.

• Patient demographics include ages 4 and above, necessitating frequent dilation.

• Note: Surgical procedures are not part of this role. Experience with specialty contact lenses is preferred but not mandatory.

• **Call Requirements:** No on-call duties are expected.

• **Patient Load:** Anticipated caseload of approximately 18 scheduled patients per day.

• **Team Structure:** Supported by a full complement of administrative and clinical staff.

• **Electronic Medical Record System:** EPIC.

• **Required Certifications:** Board Certification, current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

• **Licensure:** Active California state license is mandatory.
