Goals and deliverables

Application Support & Deployment

• Perform application installation, configuration, and environment setup across enterprise environments.
• Manage deployments and runtime configurations on Payara and Apache Tomcat application servers, supporting Contratech, IUCLID, Chesar, QSAR
• Execute application version upgrades and Java upgrades, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption.
• Support desktop/client-side application installations and upgrades where applicable.
• For Loftware Spectrum application:
• Troubleshoot deployment/configuration issues and coordinate fixes with internal teams and vendors as required.
• Troubleshoot printers and configuration within the application, and on-site physical printers as required.
• Troubleshoot print output issues and data mapping issues, template errors asrequired.

Production Support (L2/L3)

• Provide L2/L3 production support ensuring business continuity and minimal downtime.
• Perform incident management activities: triage, investigation, resolution, workaround implementation, and closure.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring/high-impact issues and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Work effectively in a global support model across time zones, including planned support windows as required.
• Maintain clear, timely, and customer-friendly communications during incidents and service disruptions.
• Learn and enhance /implement new business rules/technique of labeling and loftware spectrum

Server & Database Management

• Support administration and troubleshooting of application server environments (Payara, Tomcat).
• Perform basic SQL activities related to application configuration, validation, and operational support.
• Support DerbyDB and coordinate with teams for external database integrations/configurations.
• Assist with performance observations, log analysis, and stability improvements in production environments.

Security & Compliance (SSL/TLS/PKI)

• Implement and maintain SSL/TLS configurations, including certificate deployment/renewal aligned to security policies.
• Support PKI certificate handling processes (installation, chain validation, expiry tracking, troubleshooting).
• Assist with user access controls and application security configurations as per organizational standards.
• Ensure changes align with security requirements and contribute to audit readiness through evidence/documentation.

Loftware Spectrum / Label Management

• Provide operational and technical support for Loftware Spectrum, ensuring reliable label execution and printing services.
• Design and maintain label templates and printing solutions as needed by business functions.
• Develop and support business rules/scripts using JavaScript/ECMAScript within Loftware workflows where applicable.
• Manage integrations, workflows, automation processes, printing/device configurations, and label execution components.
• Configure and maintain Loftware security roles and access management in line with compliance needs.

Stakeholder Management & Documentation

• Partner with IT Services, business users, operations, and vendors to manage incidents, changes, and deployments.
• Provide clear status updates, impact assessments, and resolution communications to stakeholders.
• Coordinate System Integration Testing/User Acceptance Testing.
• Create and maintain operational documentation (runbooks, deployment steps, RCA notes, known errors, and knowledge articles).
• Promote teamwork and knowledge sharing, supporting continuous improvement and standardization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in application support / technical specialist roles supporting Java-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat and/or Payara Server.
• Loftware Spectrum experience (required).
• Knowledge of Java and scripting using JavaScript / ECMAScript.
• Understanding SQL and database configurations (including DerbyDB exposure).
• Experience implementing/supporting SSL, TLS, and PKI certificates in enterprise environments.
• Exposure to production support practices including incident management and RCA.
• Certifications are a plus (e.g., Java, ITIL, security/certificates, Loftware-related, or relevant infra/platform certifications).
