Job Description :

We are seeking a reliable, organised, and experienced **Logistics Controller** to coordinate and manage daily transport operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, communicating with clients regarding loads transported by our trucks, arranging diesel orders, and ensuring that deliveries and transport activities run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage drivers to ensure efficient daily transport operations. * Communicate with clients regarding load collections, deliveries, progress updates, and any delays. * Monitor trucks and loads to ensure deliveries are completed on time. * Arrange and coordinate diesel orders for trucks according to operational requirements. * Monitor diesel consumption and maintain accurate fuel records. * Keep track of truck movements, driver schedules, routes, and delivery statuses. * Liaise with drivers, clients, suppliers, and management to resolve operational issues. * Ensure all relevant transport documentation, delivery notes, trip sheets, and registers are completed and maintained. * Monitor vehicle availability and report breakdowns, delays, or other operational problems. * Assist with coordinating vehicle maintenance, services, and Certificates of Fitness (COFs). * Track transport-related expenses, diesel costs, and other operational costs. * Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for management. * Follow up on outstanding deliveries, collections, and client queries. * Ensure drivers comply with company procedures and transport requirements. * Perform general logistics administration and other related duties as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in logistics, transport coordination, or fleet control will be advantageous. * Good communication skills, especially when dealing with drivers and clients. * Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills. * Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, email, and other office applications. * Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and work under pressure. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good telephone etiquette and professional communication skills. * Knowledge of truck transport operations and diesel management will be an advantage.

Salary R10,000 – R15,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and suitability for the position.
