Job Overview

OPTIMA TRANSPORTATION LLC is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our growing transportation team. The Logistics Coordinator will help manage daily freight operations, coordinate shipments, communicate with carriers and customers, and ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily freight shipments, pickups, transfers, and deliveries.
• Schedule transportation appointments and communicate shipment requirements to carriers, drivers, warehouses, and customers.
• Track shipments and monitor freight movement from origin to destination.
• Provide customers and transportation partners with timely shipment updates and delivery information.
• Communicate with carriers, brokers, drivers, warehouses, and internal operations teams to keep shipments moving efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests, invoices, delivery confirmations, and shipment records.
• Monitor ETAs and proactively identify potential delays or transportation issues.
• Resolve shipment exceptions, scheduling conflicts, missed appointments, and routing issues.
• Update transportation management systems (TMS), spreadsheets, and internal databases with accurate shipment information.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure freight is properly prepared, staged, loaded, and dispatched.
• Verify shipment details, quantities, addresses, and delivery requirements.
• Assist with freight cost verification and transportation documentation.
• Prepare operational reports and monitor key performance indicators such as on-time pickups, deliveries, and shipment accuracy.
• Ensure logistics activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Support process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce delays, and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, freight, shipping, or supply chain operations preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and logistics software.
• Experience with TMS, WMS, GPS/fleet tracking, or carrier portals is a plus.
• Knowledge of freight documentation and transportation procedures is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to daily challenges.

Pay: $23.74 - $26.43 per hour
