Logistics Coordinator

As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking an organized, dependable, and motivated Logistics Coordinator to support our daily transportation activities and help maintain efficient communication between customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams.

Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator plays an important role in coordinating freight from pickup through final delivery. This position supports shipment scheduling, carrier and driver communication, freight tracking, transportation documentation, appointment coordination, and day-to-day problem resolution.

The Logistics Coordinator works closely with dispatch, carriers, customers, and operations personnel to ensure shipment information remains accurate, transportation schedules stay on track, and any delays or service issues are addressed promptly.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate professionally in a fast-paced logistics environment. Previous transportation or logistics experience is helpful but not required for candidates who demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate freight shipments from initial scheduling through pickup and final delivery
• Schedule pickups, deliveries, and transportation appointments
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, brokers, and internal operations personnel
• Monitor active shipments and maintain accurate status updates
• Identify potential delays, scheduling conflicts, or transportation issues and assist with timely resolution
• Confirm pickup and delivery details with appropriate parties
• Maintain accurate shipment records, transportation documents, and operational information
• Review shipping and transportation paperwork for completeness and accuracy
• Enter and update shipment information in transportation management systems (TMS) and company databases
• Assist with load planning, freight scheduling, route coordination, and daily transportation priorities
• Support carrier onboarding and maintain required carrier information and records
• Coordinate appointments with customers, warehouses, shipping facilities, and receiving locations
• Respond professionally to customer and carrier inquiries regarding shipment status and scheduling
• Assist with tracking delivery performance and preparing basic operational reports
• Communicate changes, delays, and exceptions promptly to the appropriate parties
• Support compliance with company procedures and applicable transportation requirements
• Collaborate with dispatch, customer service, operations, and management to maintain efficient workflow
• Assist with additional logistics, transportation, and administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, freight coordination, customer service, or supply chain operations is preferred but not required
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to changing transportation needs
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and general computer applications
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is helpful but not required
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
