Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Our client is an established New Zealand-owned supplier operating across the trade & construction sectors. They source products internationally and supply customers throughout New Zealand.

They are looking for an organised and commercially minded Logistics Coordinator to help manage the movement of goods across the supply chain. The role also has an important focus on product packaging, supplier coordination, inventory accuracy and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with suppliers, factories, freight providers, warehouse teams and internal departments to ensure products and packaging arrive accurately, on time and to the required quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight and deliveries
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, dispatches and stock movements
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare preliminary replenishment reports
• Book shipments and resolve discrepancies with suppliers
• Liaise with freight providers, warehouse staff and suppliers to resolve delivery issues
• Support reporting on delivery accuracy, inventory levels and lead times
• Coordinate the sourcing and supply of packaging materials
• Assist with new product costings and packaging development
• Work with international suppliers and factories to maintain product and packaging quality
• Monitor packaging stock and arrange reorders to prevent shortages or overstocking
• Maintain supplier and factory documentation for customer audits and reporting
• Support ethical sourcing, sustainability and regulatory compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, packaging costs and environmental impact
• Help coordinate the annual stocktake

About you

You will be highly organised, accurate and comfortable coordinating several moving parts at once. You enjoy solving problems, communicating with different stakeholders and making sure deadlines are met.

You will ideally have:

• A qualification or previous experience in logistics, supply chain or business
• Experience in logistics coordination, inventory administration or order processing
• Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills
• Experience using inventory, logistics or ERP systems
• Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy
• Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers, freight providers and internal teams
• The ability to identify and resolve problems proactively
• A reliable, self-motivated approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Packaging development or procurement experience would be advantageous
• Experience within trade supply, retail, distribution or wholesale would be beneficial
• Knowledge of building or construction-related products would be useful, although training will be provided
