What they need
About This Position The Van Leeuwenhoek Laboratory (VLL) in Delft is one of the most advanced research environments in the Netherlands. Every day, researchers, technicians, and industry partners work here on the technologies of the future. To ensure this environment operates at its best, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator who will ensure that materials, equipment, storage facilities, transportation, and supporting services are available reliably, safely, and efficiently.
In this versatile role, you will be the central point of contact for logistics processes within the VLL. No two days are the same. One day you may be organizing the transportation of research equipment; the next, you may be supporting a laboratory expansion project or coordinating with suppliers regarding storage and logistics services. You will work in a unique environment where logistics directly contributes to groundbreaking innovations in areas such as semiconductors, quantum technology, optics, and advanced research infrastructures.

What will be your role? As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and improving logistics processes within the VLL and the adjacent High Tech Industry facilities. You will ensure that materials, equipment, and research resources are available when needed, enabling research and innovation activities to take place safely, efficiently, and without disruption. You will work closely with researchers, facility specialists, suppliers, and logistics partners, playing a key role in further professionalizing logistics services within HTI.
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for
- Coordinating internal and external storage locations and managing materials, equipment, and project deliverables.
- Organizing and overseeing transportation between research facilities, external storage locations, and other destinations.
- Supporting logistics activities related to laboratories, research facilities, and facility projects.
- Coordinating internal relocations of research equipment, materials, and technical assets.
- Managing cleanroom clothing, consumables, technical tools, and supporting equipment.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers, logistics service providers, and other external partners.
- Identifying, initiating, and implementing improvements in logistics processes and working methods.
- Contributing to a safe working environment by supporting the Emergency Response Organization (BHV) and ensuring compliance with safety regulations within logistics operations.
- Supporting researchers and project teams with logistics questions related to experiments and research projects.
- Coordinating logistics support for demonstrations, trade fairs, events, and other external activities.
- Contributing to the operational continuity of laboratory and research activities within HTI.
What we expect from you As a Logistics Coordinator, you are a practical and proactive professional who can maintain an overview in a dynamic research environment. You easily switch between researchers, suppliers, and support services and feel responsible for ensuring logistics processes run smoothly. You take initiative, think in terms of solutions, and make sure things get done. Thanks to your organizational skills, customer-oriented mindset, and collaborative approach, you make an important contribution to the successful execution of research activities within the Van Leeuwenhoek Laboratory and the wider HTI environment.
To perform this role successfully, you recognize yourself in the following profile
