What they need
About the role
The Logistics Executive is responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate movement of goods — both inbound (raw materials/finished goods from suppliers) and outbound (shipments to customers/distributors) — while maintaining accurate inventory records. The role acts as the link between warehouse operations, sales, finance, and external parties such as freight forwarders, customs agents, and transporters.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents — delivery orders (DO), invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and export/import permits.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to arrange timely shipment of goods (local and/or export).
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export licensing, and any FMCG-specific requirements (e.g. halal certification, health/safety certificates, HACCP where applicable).
- Track shipment status and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues.
- Coordinate with transporters to schedule pickups/deliveries and optimize delivery routes and costs.
- Monitor stock levels across warehouse(s) and ensure inventory records in the system (ERP/WMS) match physical stock.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO principles — critical in FMCG due to shelf-life and expiry dates.
- Prepare regular reports on shipment status, inventory levels, stock variances, and logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turnover).
- Work closely with warehouse, procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
About you
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in logistics/inventory control, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Proficient in ERP/WMS systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external logistics partners.
- Able to work under pressure.
