JOB DESCRIPTION – LOGISTICS EXECUTIVE

About the Role

Nutrapoorna is looking for a proactive and organized Logistics Executive to manage day-to-day logistics operations, dispatches, transportation coordination, delivery tracking, documentation, and coordination with internal teams, transporters, drivers, customers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of local transportation, dispatch processes, logistics documentation, and Excel, along with strong follow-up and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities1. Dispatch & Logistics Operations

• Coordinate daily dispatch of finished goods from the plant/warehouse.
• Plan and coordinate vehicle placement as per dispatch requirements.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers, and delivery partners.
• Ensure timely loading, dispatch, and delivery of goods.
• Track vehicles and follow up until successful delivery.
• Coordinate for urgent and priority dispatches.

2. Transportation Management

• Coordinate with transporters for vehicle availability and placement.
• Negotiate/coordinate transportation rates as per company requirements.
• Maintain transporter and vehicle details.
• Monitor vehicle reporting, loading, departure, and delivery status.
• Follow up on delayed, pending, or unsuccessful deliveries.
• Coordinate with drivers regarding routes, delivery locations, and instructions.

3. Documentation & Records

• Prepare and maintain dispatch-related documentation.
• Coordinate required invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, LR/GR and other logistics documents.
• Verify dispatch documents before vehicle departure.
• Maintain daily dispatch and delivery records.
• Ensure proper POD (Proof of Delivery) collection and submission.
• Maintain transporter bills and supporting documents for verification.

4. Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate with the Production and Warehouse teams for stock readiness.
• Ensure goods are available and properly packed before dispatch.
• Coordinate loading schedules with warehouse/packing teams.
• Assist in reconciliation of dispatched vs. delivered quantities.
• Report shortages, damages, returns, or discrepancies.

5. Delivery & Customer Coordination

• Coordinate with customers/distributors regarding delivery schedules.
• Share vehicle and delivery details wherever required.
• Follow up on pending deliveries and PODs.
• Handle routine delivery-related queries and escalate issues to the concerned manager.
• Coordinate returns, rejected goods, shortages, and damaged material.

6. MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily/weekly logistics MIS.
• Maintain records of:
• Dispatch quantity
• Number of vehicles
• Delivery status
• Pending deliveries
• POD status
• Transportation cost
• Vehicle/route details
• Returns and damages
• Prepare Excel reports for management review.
• Highlight delays, cost issues, and operational challenges.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

• On-time dispatch percentage
• On-time delivery percentage
• Vehicle placement TAT
• POD submission TAT
• Dispatch documentation accuracy
• Transportation cost control
• Reduction in delivery delays
• Reduction in transit damage/shortage
• Accuracy of logistics MIS
• Effective transporter coordination

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of logistics and transportation operations.
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.
• Knowledge of E-way Bill, LR/GR, POD, invoices and delivery challans.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with drivers, transporters, warehouse, production and customers.
• Problem-solving and multitasking ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet dispatch deadlines.
• Knowledge of Mumbai local routes and logistics operations will be an advantage.

Qualification

Education: Graduate preferred.
Candidates with relevant experience in Logistics, Dispatch, Transportation, Warehouse or Supply Chain operations may also be considered.

Experience

2–4 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, warehouse coordination, FMCG, food manufacturing, or a related industry.
