Logistics Executive

Experience: Fresher-1 Years in manufacturing Job Summary Purchase – Logistics role will be responsible for the movement of purchased materials, from the point a purchase order is placed until the material is received at the plant. It links the Purchase Team, suppliers, transporters, Stores and Warehouse and QC, so that the right material arrives on time, with correct documents and at the right freight cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation for all purchased material, from the supplier's location to the head office or plant, once the Purchase Team confirms the order.
• Follow up with vendors every day on order confirmation, dispatch and delivery dates for open POs.
• Confirm pickup dates, timings, package count and weight with vendors before booking transport.
• Schedule pickups in line with material priorities shared by the Purchase Team, and combine loads from nearby vendors where possible.
• Book vehicles and share pickup addresses, contact persons and delivery locations with transporters and vendors.
• Choose the right transport mode and Track every consignment in transit, and update the Purchase Team and Stores and Warehouse on expected arrival time for unloading.
• Check that every consignment travels with the correct invoice, delivery challan, e-way bill and lorry receipt (LR).
• Arrange transport for material sent to and returned from job workers, such as powder coating, fabrication vendors, and for material returned to vendors.
• Handle transit delays, damage and loss with transporters, including transit insurance claims where applicable.
• Verify transporter and courier bills against agreed rates and actual trips before passing them to Finance and Accounts.
• Maintain a transport tracker in SAP / MS Excel, and share a weekly report on consignments moved, delays, damage cases and freight cost.

Skills & Requirements

• Good knowledge of transport modes, vehicle types, local and outstation transporters, and freight rates.
• Knowledge of e-way bills, delivery challans, lorry receipts and transit damage claims.
• Working knowledge of SAP and good command of MS Excel for trackers and reports.
• Strong follow-up, communication skills with vendors, transporters & internal teams.
• Ability to communicate in English, Kannada and Hindi.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related field; a diploma or certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
• Fresher -1 or 2–3 years of experience in transport or logistics coordination, preferably in a manufacturing company
