A leading engineering and construction company is seeking a Logistics Executive to manage and oversee freight and logistics operations across sea, air, and land transportation for a leading contracting and engineering company, negotiating competitive rates, ensuring customs clearance compliance for project materials and equipment, and securing timely on-site delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a good understanding of sea freight, air freight, and land transportation for construction materials, machinery, and project supplies.
• Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders (FFWs), customs clearance agents, and local heavy-transportation companies.
• Coordinate and follow up with shipping companies, customs clearance agents, and project site teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and efficient handling of logistics operations.
• Manage communication with customs clearance agents to ensure smooth, compliant, and accelerated clearance procedures for site-critical shipments.
• Prepare and review import/export shipping documents, commercial invoices, and packing lists to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and track shipments from origin to project sites, resolving logistics bottlenecks and clearance delays proactively.
• Obtain necessary regulatory approvals, import permits, and customs exemptions where applicable for construction equipment and imported materials.
• Ensure adherence to Egyptian import regulations (e.g., Nafeza/ACI) and international trade compliance standards.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with freight forwarders and logistics providers, continuously evaluating vendor performance and service levels.
• Participate in procurement and project logistics planning meetings, providing actionable timelines and cost-effective freight options.
• Report shipping schedules, port dwell times, documentation status, and logistics risks directly to management.
• Perform any other tasks assigned within the scope of project logistics and supply chain.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Preferred Specialization: Logistics / Supply Chain.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance (experience within contracting, EPC, or industrial project logistics is highly preferred).
• Knowledge Areas: Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs clearance procedures, ACI system, sea/land freight operations, and project cargo/heavy equipment handling.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
• Language: Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Work Environment

• Work is primarily based at the company's head office in Alexandria, with coordination across major commercial ports (Alexandria / Dekheila), customs areas, and ongoing project sites as needed.
• Requires agility and responsiveness to manage critical shipments under tight project milestones.

Physical Requirements

• Standard professional office physical capabilities.
• Occasional mobility for port visits, customs inspection follow-ups, or project site visits when required.
