Logistics Executive - Freight & Shipping

About the role

Provides end-to-end support to logistics operations by coordinating processes to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods. Oversees the flow of products across transportation and warehousing, supports efficient front-end retail operations, and ensures logistics tasks are completed effectively. Maintains close communication and strong working relationships with retail management teams and relevant government authorities to support overall operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
• Interact, liaise and manage relationship with other operating department, external vendors, relevant government and regulatory bodies to ensure a high service to customers
• Liaise with government authorities (Malaysian Royal Customs, Port Authority, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, Ministry of International Trade and Industry), Customer Service Personnel, freight forwarders/couriers to provide most cost effective facilities and time efficient manner
• Request packing list and know the mode for shipment
• Book sub-contractors and ensure they deliver within agreed terms
• Advice on alternative shipping methods/carriers/transporter in order to obtain better services
• Arrange insurance application for product coverage and process insurance claim for pilferage shortages
• Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
• Negotiate transportation rates or services

About you

• Possess at least a STPM, Diploma in any field alongside relevant working experiences as an added advantage
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in Customer Services
• Great communication skills, with the ability to convey information concisely and clearly in a friendly and professional manner
• Great problem-solving skills and the ability to search for and quickly take in all necessary information to help solve issues
• Great typing skills (ideally scores at or above 36WPM) and excellent written communication skills – good grammar and spelling, clear and concise writing
• Experience within the premium retail industry (added advantage)
• Basic understanding of computer, device, and e-commerce/online shopping brands in the market today
• Previous experience in the customer support area
• Customer support mindset with excellent communication etiquette while being attentive to detail
• Independent and self-motivated
