Logistics Head

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Responsible for ensuring real-time receiving and discharging of commodities, adhering to proper bodega management to facilitate planning, organizing, directing, and controlling material storage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing the Trading Manager with an update on the prevailing competitors’ copra buying prices and estimated copra in-land deliveries.
• Responsible for the assurance of proper bodega management.
• Accountable for ensuring the shipment and local discharging of Oil commodities, Copra Expeller Cake, and the unloading of Copra by vessel with sufficient manpower requirements.
• Coordinates with Buying Station Managers for the estimated arrival of Copra vessels.
• Ensures direct supervision of all Copra in-land and vessel unloading activities.
• Ensures regular monitoring of Copra and Copra Expeller Cake stock temperature.
• Deals with the coordination of the manufacturing operation of the required volume commitments of export commodity per the expected shipment schedule.
• Ensures the compliance of regulatory requirements interfacing with the third-party entities, such as harbor pilots, vessel agents, surveyors, port authorities, and the Bureau of Customs, during the vessel loading of commodities
• Sees to it that logistics facilities are in good condition, complying with regular maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Responsible for ensuring the veracity of report management, recordkeeping, and control of documents.
• Interfaces with the SAP system on the posting of issuances and receiving of oil commodity entries.
• Responsible for ensuring the storage of oil products and copra expeller cake through reliable Tank Farm/warehouse management.
• Establishes harmonious working relationships and camaraderie with Copra dealers and suppliers.
• Comply with all Food Safety Management System (FSMS), GMP, HACCP, and relevant regulatory requirements at all times.
• Performs other related jobs as required.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and proper housekeeping.
• Identify, recommend procedures to improve productivity, safety and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and immediate repair affecting logistics operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Food Technology, or other related fields.
• Preferably with a professional license, relevant certifications, or postgraduate degree.
• Relevant work experience in warehousing, inventory management, product shipment, raw material transportation, or logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse operations, storage procedures, and logistics planning.
• Familiarity with transportation laws and regulations, ISO standards, HACCP, GMP, HALAL, and food safety requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in computer applications, data management, and report preparation.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively coordinate with different departments.
• Willing to perform site inspections in warehouse, tank farm, and pier facilities and travel as needed.
