Experience in either manufacturing shipping or distribution is welcome. Strong computer skills, practical freight knowledge, and the ability to take ownership are essential.
What you'll do

- Arrange U.S. pickups using customer-provided bills of lading and shipment information.
- Obtain and compare three freight quotes through established transportation vendors, considering cost, timing, and service.
- Book carriers and couriers, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and CUSMA documentation as required.
- Work with customs brokers, carriers, customers, and suppliers to keep shipments moving.
- Review freight charges, currency conversions, and applicable customer markups; investigate discrepancies and claims.
- Provide daily direction to the shipping team and help coordinate priorities.
- Maintain accurate shipment information in the ERP system.
- Support packaging and shipping activities when additional help is needed.
- Help improve shipping procedures, accuracy, and efficiency.
What you bring

- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Practical experience coordinating both inbound and outbound freight.

- Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. shipping documentation, customs procedures, HS codes, and CUSMA requirements.
- Experience comparing freight quotes and coordinating transportation vendors.
- The confidence to guide a small team, communicate priorities, and follow through.
- A dependable, organized approach and the ability to solve problems independently.
- Willingness to assist with packaging and physical shipping tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, with accommodation as required.
- A diploma in supply chain or logistics is an asset.
