What they need
MornstAir is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead warehouse, yard, and materials logistics supporting our construction projects. You will make sure the right materials, tools, and equipment reach job sites safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is both a hands-on leadership role and a strategic one: you'll manage warehouse and yard teams day to day while planning ahead for the capacity, vendor, and staffing needs of our project pipeline. You'll work closely with project managers and procurement to keep projects moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term logistics plans aligned with the project pipeline and company growth goals
- Forecast material, tool, equipment, and labor needs in partnership with project teams and procurement
- Plan logistic, warehouse, inventory and yard capacity, and recommend investments in facilities, equipment, technology, and vehicles
- Identify potential constraints, assess risks, and develop contingency plans before they affect the schedule
- Oversee daily operations of our warehouse, materials yard, and tool/equipment storage, including receiving, storage, staging, and dispatch to job sites
- Maintain inventory accuracy for materials, tools, and consumables through cycle counts, audits, and organized slotting and yard layout
- Manage handling and storage of bulky, heavy, and weather-sensitive materials (e.g., steel, lumber, piping, electrical components)
- Manage warehouse/inventory system usage, data integrity, and reporting
- Plan deliveries around site access limits, laydown space, and crane or unloading availability
- Participate in project planning, subcontractor, and coordination meetings
- Coordinate closely with the team leads and Project Manager to prevent logistics issues from affecting construction progress
- Enforce OSHA requirements (general industry and construction), including PPE, forklift and equipment safety, and material handling standards
- Ensure compliance with DOT requirements for vehicles and drivers, and proper handling of hazardous materials
- Prepare and manage the logistics budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Define and track KPIs such as on-time delivery to site, inventory accuracy, material waste and loss, cost per delivery, and safety incident rates
- Report regularly to senior leadership and project teams with data-backed recommendations
- Lead, coach, and develop logistics team members, building a bench of future leaders
- Plan staffing and schedules around project demand, early-morning dispatch, and seasonal peaks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, ideally in construction, building materials, or a project-based environment, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Demonstrated success leading and developing teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Experience with strategic or long-range planning, such as forecasting, capacity planning, or developing logistics plans tied to business goals
- Experience coordinating deliveries to job sites and working with project managers and field crews
- Experience preparing and managing a budget
- Hands-on experience with inventory or ERP systems
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (10/30-hour card preferred) and safe material handling practices
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Professional certification such as CPIM, CSCP, or CLM is a Plus
- Forklift/heavy equipment certification is also a plus
- Experience leading multicultural or multilingual crews

Requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to [50] lbs, and work in varying weather conditions. Early starts and occasional extended hours or weekend coverage may be required.
