Logistics Manager (m/f/d) offering a Competitive Salary

Our client, is looking for a Logistics Manager to run complex heavy-haulage transports for infrastructure projects across Germany.

Your responsibilities

• Own the on-time transport of heavy cable drums, often tens of tonnes each, plus accessories, tools and materials, through to the construction site
• Act as the central contact between customers, suppliers, hauliers and other project partners on all logistics matters
• Plan and assess transport routes, including any required escort or support measures, and manage and oversee subcontractors
• Review and improve permit documentation for abnormal and heavy loads (VEMAGS)
• Work closely with the international group headquarters
• Develop logistics concepts, transport plans and supporting documentation
• Keep thorough records of processes, guidelines and changes
• Hold budget responsibility and control costs across logistics
• Check goods for quality and quantity, and oversee loading
• Give clear instructions to logistics providers on loads and delivery locations to prevent transport damage
• Coordinate safe interim storage of the cables

Your profile

• Solid know-how in shipping, freight handling and customs processes
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Confident working with hauliers, freight costing and transport coordination
• Basic Excel skills
• Analytical thinking and a solution-focused approach
• A plus: experience with MS Project or similar tools
• Heavy road transportation experience and road planning experience.
