Logistics Manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ensure a proper planning and budgeting of the logistical activities prior to the project beginning thus preventing potential delays or undesirable difficulties.
2. Plan and organize the work within the department to make sure all activities are completed on time and in a cost-efficient way.
3. Oversee the activities of the unit, monitor performance and provide guidance and support to the staff in order to ensure high standard of efficiency.
4. Review and analyze policies, procedures and practices, evaluate their efficiency and come up with improvement initiatives.
5. Set strategies for the provision of logistical services based on the projects’ needs and constraints, decide on outsourcing needs and proceed to a selection and evaluation of subcontractors to ensure timely services with optimum quality-cost standards.
6. Liaise with external parties and discuss potential business partnerships with supervisor and Area Manager to make the most profitable deals.
7. Manage the provision of logistical services to visitors/people on a mission, give clear instructions to subordinates and intervene in complex/uncommon situations to ensure high quality standards of provided services.
8. Oversee the handling of queries/complaints/problems, solve complex and/or major ones to maintain a high level of internal customer’s satisfaction while meeting the department’s objectives.
9. Conduct regular audits/inspections to ensure compliance to policies and procedures and make sure good practices are well implemented (including Hygiene and Safety).
10. Analyze reports and figures for cost allocation and cost control activities and take all necessary measures to avoid exceeding the budget.
11. Provide technical assistance to the estimation function by providing it with the necessary information relevant to logistical costs.
12. Motivate, train, develop and evaluate staff to optimize their potential and increase their capabilities and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (contracting, construction companies...).
• Bachelor of Business Administration or other related field.
• Good communication skills.
• English and French languages skills – written and spoken.
