What they need

Industry: Renewable Energy / Heavy-Lift Logistics / Project Cargo

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Lift & Project Logistics Specialist to manage end-to-end logistics fulfillment for large-scale wind energy projects.

The role will be responsible for coordinating the movement of major wind turbine and other heavy equipment from origin/factory through international transportation, ports, customs clearance, inland transportation, and final project-site delivery.

The position requires someone who can work hands-on with oversized cargo, specialized transportation, multimodal logistics, customs procedures, route planning, port operations, and on-site project execution.

The role may involve frequent travel and extended deployment to project sites across assigned markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end logistics solutions for oversized and heavy project cargo, from factory to final project site.
  • Coordinate sea freight, land transportation, port loading/discharging, inland waterway transportation and other multimodal logistics activities.
  • Manage transportation of over-length, over-width and over-weight cargo using specialized vehicles, trailers and vessels.
  • Conduct or coordinate transportation route surveys and dedicated delivery plans for heavy and oversized equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, shipping lines, ports, customs brokers, project teams and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review and track import/customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance documents and other supporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the resolution of customs clearance issues, inspections, cargo detention and documentation discrepancies.
  • Act as the logistics representative at project sites and supervise port unloading, warehousing, inland transportation and final handover.
  • Coordinate material arrival schedules with project and construction teams to prevent delays or site congestion.
  • Supervise loading and unloading activities and ensure compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • Manage cargo damage incidents and coordinate insurance claims when required.
  • Monitor logistics budgets, costs and expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Maintain shipment tracking and provide regular logistics fulfillment and project performance reports.
  • Resolve logistics emergencies involving transport delays, customs issues, equipment damage and site delivery challenges.

These responsibilities include the end-to-end project logistics, special transportation, customs and on-site coordination requirements specified in the original role description.

Minimum Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of dedicated project logistics, heavy-lift, heavy-haul, special cargo or oversized cargo experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing OOG / ODC / oversized / overweight cargo.
  • Experience managing factory-to-site or origin-to-project-site delivery for large-scale equipment.
  • Experience with international sea, land and/or multimodal transportation.
  • Practical experience coordinating customs clearance and import documentation.
  • Experience working with specialized transport providers, ports, shipping lines and/or heavy-lift operations.
  • Experience coordinating on-site unloading, inland transportation, warehousing and final delivery.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work/deploy at project sites.

International / Regional Experience

Experience managing logistics projects across Southeast Asia, MENA, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America or other international markets is highly relevant.

Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of regional logistics operations, customs procedures, transportation networks, ports and local regulatory requirements.

The position requires significant international/regional project exposure and frequent travel.

This position requires actual hands-on project cargo / heavy-lift logistics experience.

  • PMP certification
  • Experience with international project logistics
  • Strong knowledge of customs and trade regulations
  • Experience managing logistics budgets and insurance claims

  • Frequent domestic and international travel
  • Project-site deployment
  • Working in demanding project environments
  • Coordinating operations at ports, transport routes and construction/project sites
  • Extended site assignments when required

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

This is a specialized Heavy Lift / Project Logistics role and is NOT a general Logistics, Warehouse, Distribution, or Freight Forwarding position.

We are specifically looking for candidates with proven, hands-on experience managing the international transportation and project-site delivery of oversized, over-dimensional, or overweight cargo, preferably for wind energy, power, heavy industry, infrastructure, or similar large-scale projects.

Candidates without actual project cargo / heavy-lift experience may not be considered.

If you have hands-on experience moving large-scale equipment for wind, energy, power, heavy industrial or infrastructure projects, we would like to hear from you.
