About the Company

The Australian-owned EGR Group has been a market innovator and leader in manufacturing since 1973. Our business is well established domestically and operates internationally across North America, Asia and Europe, employing approximately 600 people worldwide.

EGR is one of Queensland’s largest manufacturing operations, with its headquarters and manufacturing facilities located in Brisbane. We are a market leader in design and manufacture products for the automotive, building, architectural and display industries across Australia and international markets.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Officer to join our Logistics and Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Transport, Warehouse & Logistics Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating accurate, compliant and efficient freight and logistics activities across EGR’s domestic and international operations.

You will coordinate freight movements, shipping documentation, carrier communication, customs requirements and logistics administration while working closely with carriers, customs brokers, service providers and internal stakeholders.

This is a practical, operational role suited to someone who is confident working autonomously, managing competing priorities and making informed operational decisions within established processes and delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international freight movements, including air, sea, LCL, FCL, domestic linehaul, courier and container movements.
  • Manage container bookings, vessel schedules, carrier engagement and delivery performance.
  • Prepare, verify and maintain accurate shipping, trade, customs and freight documentation.
  • Ensure approved Incoterms and shipment requirements are correctly reflected in freight instructions and documentation.
  • Support HS codes, Australian tariff classifications, Free Trade Agreement requirements and customs processes.
  • Liaise with customs brokers and service providers regarding clearance, valuation, origin and FTA documentation.
  • Review, allocate, split and approve freight invoices within delegated authority and agreed rates and service terms.
  • Maintain accurate freight records, shipment milestones and supporting documentation within QAD and other approved systems.
  • Monitor carrier performance, freight costs, delivery exceptions and shipment status.
  • Identify cost variances, incorrect surcharges and opportunities to improve freight costs and service outcomes.
  • Manage carrier escalations and communicate effectively with brokers, warehouse, production and other internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the Transport, Warehouse & Logistics Manager to support ongoing freight and logistics process improvements.
  • Assist with other logistics projects and duties as required.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in freight or logistics operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of international freight, Incoterms, customs processes and documentation requirements.
  • A high level of accuracy across freight documentation, compliance, billing and record keeping.
  • The ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing requirements and make informed operational decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with carriers, customs brokers, service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience using QAD or another ERP system will be highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to resolving freight and delivery issues.
