Logistics Officer (Junior)

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Officer to join GXO Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd at our facility in Medini Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehousing, storage and distribution services. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be the operational backbone of our logistics activities, liaising between warehouse operations, transport management, and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of service and supporting the growth objectives of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and despatch of goods
• Manage inventory records and ensure accurate tracking of stock movements through our systems
• Liaise with transport providers to schedule pickups and deliveries in a timely manner
• Process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, delivery notes and customs documentation as required
• Monitor and communicate with clients regarding order status, delivery schedules and any issues or delays
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure optimal space utilisation and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in warehouse management systems and databases
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Troubleshoot logistics issues and implement solutions to minimise disruptions
• Assist in training and mentoring junior warehouse staff as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a logistics coordinator or similar warehouse operations role, preferably within the warehousing, storage and distribution sector
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
• Knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management and best practices in warehousing operations
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including warehouse, transport and customer service departments
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement operational improvements
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to support peak operational periods
• Familiarity with Malaysian import/export regulations and customs procedures is highly desirable
