What they need

Anchorline International is hiring an Operations Manager – Logistics to oversee daily logistics activities, coordinate transportation and shipment schedules, and help keep operations running on time.

You'll work with carriers, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to organise shipments, resolve delivery problems, and monitor operational costs. When plans change or a shipment encounters a problem, you'll need to understand what has gone wrong, decide what needs attention first, and keep the relevant people informed.

We are looking for someone who understands the practical side of logistics management and can balance daily operational demands with longer-term improvements.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Oversee daily logistics operations, including shipment planning, dispatch, transportation coordination, and delivery tracking.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to manage schedules and resolve service issues.
  • Monitor shipment progress and investigate delays, missed deliveries, damaged goods, or incomplete documentation.
  • Review logistics costs, delivery performance, and operational reports to identify areas that need attention.
  • Work with internal teams to coordinate inventory movements, shipment priorities, and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, transport documents, delivery updates, and operational expenses.
  • Identify recurring problems in logistics workflows and recommend practical changes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers and follow up on service or performance concerns.
  • Coordinate staff responsibilities and daily priorities to keep workloads manageable and operations organised.
  • Review procedures and documentation to ensure information is accurate and operational requirements are followed.
  • Prepare regular updates on delivery performance, operational costs, delays, and outstanding issues.
  • Communicate changes to schedules or operating requirements promptly to the people affected.
  • Ensure logistics activities follow applicable safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Work with management to address operational risks and implement agreed improvements.

Skills and Experience

The right candidate will have practical experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain operations, distribution, or a related area.

You should also have:

  • Experience coordinating logistics activities, shipments, or transportation schedules.
  • An understanding of supply chain processes and the issues that can affect delivery performance.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • The ability to review operational data and identify problems that need attention.
  • Good problem-solving skills when dealing with delays, supplier issues, and transport disruptions.
  • Clear communication skills when working with carriers, vendors, colleagues, and management.
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, operational reports, and standard business software.
  • Attention to detail when checking shipment records, schedules, and transport documentation.
  • The ability to coordinate people, assign priorities, and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • A practical approach to cost control, process improvement, and operational planning.

Experience with transportation management systems, warehouse management software, or logistics reporting tools is an advantage.
