We're looking for an organized, customer-focused Operations Specialist to support logistics operations for a dedicated customer account in Indianapolis. In this role, you'll help coordinate transportation services, ensure shipments move smoothly from start to finish, and serve as a key point of contact for customers and transportation partners.

What You'll Do

As an Operations Specialist, you'll play an important role in keeping daily logistics operations running efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

• Serving as a primary point of contact for customers and logistics partners
• Coordinating transportation services and managing customer orders using transportation management systems
• Handling special shipping requests and resolving transportation issues
• Selecting transportation modes and carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
• Entering and maintaining order information accurately
• Preparing reports and completing administrative tasks as needed
• Monitoring shipment activity and proactively addressing delays or service exceptions
• Investigating issues, identifying root causes, and helping implement corrective actions
• Escalating operational challenges when needed to ensure customer expectations are met
• Responding to proof of delivery requests and shipment inquiries
• Collaborating with team members and cross-functional departments to provide excellent service
• Supporting new process implementations and system testing initiatives
• Identifying system-related issues and helping drive solutions
• Participating in customer meetings, team meetings, conference calls, and operational reviews
• Contributing ideas for process improvements and operational excellence
• Following company procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, customer service, or a related field
• Understanding of at least one transportation mode, such as truckload, air freight, or ocean freight
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable learning and using transportation management systems and technology platforms
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
• Professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• English and German language proficiency preferred
• Commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
