Logistics Operations Specialist | US-Based Client

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day transportation and logistics operations of a growing US-based trucking company. This role will be responsible for monitoring and updating shipment information, coordinating operational updates, maintaining accurate logistics records and documentation, and supporting the dispatch and operations teams to ensure shipments move efficiently and according to established processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate shipment and transportation information within the company's Transportation Management System (TMS) and other logistics platforms.
• Coordinate with the operations and dispatch teams regarding shipment status, changes, and time-sensitive updates.
• Track and update key shipment and container information, including container ETA, Last Free Day (LFD), container return locations, shipment status, and other relevant transportation details.
• Review shipment records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Identify and escalate missing, incorrect, inconsistent, or time-sensitive information.
• Maintain accurate and organized digital records, trackers, reports, and logistics documentation.
• Communicate shipment updates, follow-ups, and operational concerns through professional email and other communication channels.
• Coordinate with relevant logistics stakeholders to obtain missing information and resolve operational concerns.
• Support dispatch and operations teams with administrative and logistics-related tasks.
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and workflow processes.

About you

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, trucking, freight, transportation, freight forwarding, shipping, dispatch, or related operations.
• Experience in US logistics or transportation operations is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of shipment coordination and transportation processes.
• Experience working with shipment records, logistics documentation, carriers, dispatch teams, or other transportation stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong email communication and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working with TMS, ERP, logistics software, or other operational systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Workspace, or similar business applications.
