LOGISTICS PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary:
The Logistics Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and managing logistics service providers, vendors, and suppliers. The role ensures that the company obtains reliable logistics services at competitive rates while maintaining service quality and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate logistics vendors, trucking companies, and service providers.
• Negotiate rates, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements with vendors.
• Develop and maintain a reliable logistics vendor network.
• Request and compare quotations based on cost, service quality, capacity, and availability.
• Coordinate with Operations and Capacity teams to identify procurement and transportation requirements.
• Monitor vendor performance, including pricing, availability, service quality, and compliance.
• Maintain updated vendor records, contracts, rates, and other procurement documents.
• Conduct regular vendor evaluation and performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation and logistics costs.
• Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies for trucking and logistics services.
• Coordinate with Finance regarding vendor billing, payment terms, and account concerns.
• Resolve vendor-related issues and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure vendors comply with company requirements and required documentation.
• Prepare procurement reports, vendor comparisons, and cost analysis.
• Monitor market rates and industry trends to support competitive pricing.
• Build and maintain good relationships with existing and potential vendors.
• Perform other procurement and logistics-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in logistics procurement, purchasing, vendor management, or supply chain.
• Experience in trucking/transportation procurement is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
• Able to compare rates, analyze costs, and negotiate with vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willing to coordinate with vendors and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
