Logistics Project Specialist

About the role

Manage supply chain activities to support P1/P10 new products and ensure the respect of Project milestones. You will be a member of the project team for Customer RFQ, involved from NPA milestone onwards.

Key responsibilities

• Define Supply Chain concepts and support quotations; define detailed Supply Chain solutions
• Initiate, define and lead logistics FMEA
• Initiate S-VRF (Valeo Requirement File) for Supply Chain requirements and validate suppliers logistic protocols
• Coordinate the definition and qualification of Finished Goods and Work In Process packaging and qualification of supplier packaging
• Define the concepts of transportation and warehousing and provide it to T&W regional organizations for quotation and CAP50 assessment
• Ensure logistics process equipment and Internal flows follow the supply chain plant strategy
• Coordinate preparation and qualification of Supply Chain master data and Information System
• Use Supply Chain checklist in STR template to manage day to day activity and weekly (WOoOM) review of progress with SC management and escalate any identified risks
• Coordinate project volumes with SIOP/MPS team to assure all volumes are included in regular planning and forecast sent to suppliers (24 month horizon)
• Interface with material planning and production control team to supply material and deliver finished goods of new projects

About you

• Ability to attend Project meetings and lead assignments related to SC tasks
• Support on Continuous improvement of Supply Chain processes
• Ensure the application of standards in ongoing projects
• Apply the standards on supply chain activities related to new projects
• Share and promote the standards both to internal and external project contributors
• Contribute in application of safety standards and for adhering to QS9000, V5000, TS16949, V1000, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, CAP50 requirements
• Monitor the Supply Chain KPIs related to the project
• Minimize any obsolescence due to new product introduction
• Validate close orders quantity and supply process
• Manage obsolete inventories (RAW, WIP, FING) with Project Manager

Qualifications:

1. Educational Background

• Degree: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration
• Certifications: APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Project Management certifications (PMP) are often considered a significant advantage

2. Professional Experience

• Automotive Industry: Usually 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or production control within the automotive industry
• Project Management: Proven experience in managing the supply chain portion of a project, including milestone tracking and risk management
• Launch Experience: Familiarity with the Valeo Production System (VPS) or similar lean manufacturing and launch protocols is highly valued

3. Technical Skills & Knowledge

• ERP Systems: Proficiency in SAP (especially modules like MM, PP, and SD) is typically mandatory
• Logistics Tools: Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), packaging specifications, and transport management
• Inventory Management: Skills in managing stock levels, safety stocks, and avoiding obsolescence during project phase-outs/phase-ins
• Production Launch (PLP): Understanding the specific requirements for new product launches, including supplier validation and capacity planning

4. Soft Skills & Languages

• Communication: Strong ability to interact with cross-functional teams (R&D, Purchasing, Quality, and Production) and external suppliers
• Problem Solving: The ability to react quickly to supply chain disruptions to ensure project timelines are met
• Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory due to Valeo's global nature and frequent interaction with international OEMs
