Logistics Scheduler

The Logistics Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating the timely movement of tank components, steel materials, equipment, and related freight between our manufacturing facility, suppliers, project sites, and customers.

This position requires close coordination with production teams, installation crews, carriers, vendors, and customers. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable resolving time-sensitive transportation issues.

The afternoon/evening schedule supports communication with international customers, carriers, and project teams operating across different time zones.

Titan Steel Works is a Portugal-based manufacturer of engineered steel water-storage tanks and containment systems. From our facility in Mafra, we provide integrated engineering, manufacturing, and installation support for made-to-order storage solutions used in fire protection, commercial, industrial, residential, and other specialized applications.

Our projects combine structural engineering, precision steel fabrication, controlled manufacturing processes, and on-site construction. We design our systems in accordance with applicable European and international standards, including EN, Eurocode, ISO, and NFPA requirements where relevant.

Key Responsibilities

· Schedule and coordinate flatbed, full-truckload, and specialized freight transportation.

· Determine appropriate transportation requirements based on shipment dimensions, weight, delivery location, loading method, and site conditions.

· Request and compare carrier quotations and assist with freight-rate negotiations.

· Arrange oversized and heavy-haul transportation, including required permits, route planning, escort vehicles, and other special requirements.

· Coordinate loading schedules and shipping-dock activities with factory and production teams.

· Confirm that materials are ready for collection before dispatching carriers.

· Align delivery dates and times with project managers, customers, construction supervisors, and field installation crews.

· Provide carriers with accurate collection and delivery instructions, site contacts, access requirements, and shipment documentation.

· Track shipments in real time and provide proactive status updates to internal teams and customers.

· Identify and resolve transit delays, breakdowns, missed appointments, route restrictions, and other delivery disruptions.

· Maintain accurate shipment records, carrier information, tracking details, and delivery schedules.

· Prepare and organize bills of lading, packing lists, permits, delivery confirmations, proofs of delivery, and other required transportation documents.

· Verify carrier credentials, insurance, licensing, and compliance documentation when required.

· Monitor freight costs and review detention, layover, redelivery, and other additional transportation charges.

· Report and assist in resolving damaged, incomplete, or incorrectly delivered shipments.

· Maintain relationships with carriers, freight brokers, vendors, and logistics service providers.

· Monitor carrier performance, service reliability, and delivery results.

· Ensure products and services are delivered within agreed deadlines and in accordance with established quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

· Support additional logistics, procurement, and project coordination responsibilities based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Fluent use of the verbal and written English.
• Between zero and four years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, dispatching, supply chain, construction, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Recent graduates with relevant education, internships, or practical experience are encouraged to apply.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple active shipments, changing priorities, and strict delivery deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to time-sensitive transportation issues.
• Clear and professional communication with carriers, customers, vendors, drivers, and internal teams.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established logistics procedures.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a wider project team.
• Availability to work on-site at our Mafra office according to the fixed Monday–Friday, 14:00–23:00 schedule.
• Portuguese and Spanish speaking is a plus.
